Hanoi - Lao Cai - Can Cau - Bac Ha - Sapa - Hanoi

Day 1 (Friday) : Hanoi – LaoCai  (by train )

Transfer from your hotel to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train.

 

Day 2 (Saturday): Lao Cai – Can Cau – Bac Ha

Breakfast at Lao Cai. Drive to the mountain town of Bac Ha for a visit to Can Cau market, one of the most exotic tribal markets in the northern highland. Can Cau attracts a large number of ethnic minorities including Flower H’mong , Tay, Nung, and Thai. In the afternoon drive back to  Bac Ha to stroll through tribal villages and to visit the ancient palace of the former H’mong King. Night in Bac Ha. (B.L.D.)

 

Day 3 (Sunday) : Bac Ha - Sapa

Breakfast at your hotel. Explore the Sunday market of Bac Ha with its colourful array of ethnic minorities including Flower H’mong, Phu La and Zao Tuyen. In the afternoon, free time. Overnight in Sapa. (B.L.D)

 

Day 4 (Monday) : Sapa – Lao chai – Ta Van – Ta Phin

After breakfast, drive to Lao Chai, starting point for the day’s hike. Trek 6 km by descending into a rice-terraced valley. Walk through isolated villages, rice fields, and thatched roof homes where H’mong peoples live. Witness the H’mong at work and at play in their distinctive dark blue dress. Continue hiking to the village of Ta Van, one of the few villages in Vietnam inhabited by the Zay tribe. Return to Sapa along a  scenic ridge line trail. In the afternoon visit Black H’mong, Zay and Red Zao minority peoples at Ta Phin village. Overnight in Sapa. (B.L.D.)

 

Day 5 (Tuesday) : Sapa – Hanoi (by car)

Breakfast at your hotel. Return to Hanoi by car. Lunch en route. (B.L.)
